Puppeteer and artistic director of the Curious School of Puppetry, Sarah Wright and writer Anna Maria Murphy will explore how words and narrative can work with puppetry vividly to tell stories.
Participants will focus on and experiment with:
– How puppets might speak, and the dialogue and poetry they might use
– Voice-over, narration and found-sound
– How stories, words and poetry can be the creative genesis for the effective devising of character and scenes, and then disappear
– Chorus and choruses.
This three day workshop will take place at Dance Base Edinburgh on Saturday 2nd February – 1pm to 8pm, and Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th February – 9am to 5pm.
About our workshop leaders: Sarah Wright and Anna Maria Murphy have worked together on numerous occasions, including the Kneehigh Theatre Rambles projects, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and The Adventures of Curious Ganz.
